Modern real-time PCR kits are designed to improve rapid, targeted results in clinical areas that suffer from poor culture sensitivity, or where organism growth rate has an impact on clinical care and health economic outcomes. Results from real-time PCR are used together with clinical patient observations to provide a clearer picture of the infectious disease etiology, diagnosis and best course of treatment.
Bruker’s molecular diagnostics real-time PCR kits for invasive fungal diseases include the Fungiplex®Aspergillus, Fungiplex®Aspergillus Azole-R and Fungiplex®Candida CE-IVD assays, as well as the Fungiplex®Candida Auris, Fungiplex®Mucorales and Fungiplex®Universal RUO assays. In addition, Bruker’s Carbaplex®assay (CE-IVD) detects carbapenem resistance in carbapenemase-producingEnterobacteriaceae (CPE).
In addition to real-time PCR assays, Bruker’s molecular diagnostics portfolio now includes the FluoroCycler®XT system (CE-IVD), developed by Hain Lifescience - a Bruker Company, for sexually transmitted infections (STI) testing, HIV viral load testing, and for other infectious disease and human genetic disease molecular diagnostic tests. This system is a novel, next-generation PCR thermal cycler and reader that enables the unique new LiquidArray®family of high-sensitivity, fast turnaround and cost-effective mid-plex assays, directly from sample, without culturing steps.
For rapid, robust microbial identification of cultured organisms, see the IVD-CE MALDI Biotyper®/ MALDI Biotyper®CA System (US-IVD).
